The Ethics Program at Roger Williams Medical Center

Ethics is an integral component of health care. At Roger Williams, we work to make the highest ethical standards part of our culture. The Medical Center is home to an extensive ethics program led by Executive Ethics Officer Dr. William O'Hara, who brings decades of high-level ethics and business experience to Roger Williams.

Dr. O’Hara has worked with colleagues throughout the Medical Center in developing a comprehensive ethics program that includes:

  • Ethics training for Trustees, physicians, and staff members.
  • A toll-free ethics and compliance hotline that is managed by an outside party and is available to field concerns around-the-clock.
  • Ethics Alert Boxes where staff and others can anonymously share any concerns regarding ethics.
  • A monthly newsletter "Eye On Ethics" that delves into issues related to ethical behavior in health care.
