| The goal of the Continuing Medical Education Program at the Roger Williams Medical Center is to present current medical information and teach new skills to the medical staff. The Continuing Medical Education Committee's responsibilities include the oversight of: 1) coordination and initiation of continuing medical education efforts within the medical center; 2) approval of Category I credit for departmental, and staff educational activities; 3) documentation of the continuing education participation of the staff members; 4) development of mechanisms for the dissemination of educational information to members of the medical staff; 5) coordination of educational efforts with peer review, utilization review, medical care evaluation and tissue review; 6) incorporation of the needs of the staff into educational programs and 7) evaluation of the effectiveness of these activities. It is expected that the Continuing Medical Education activities will result in increased provider knowledge and capabilities in caring for patients. |

| The Roger Williams Medical Center is accredited by the Rhode Island Medical Society (RIMS) to sponsor intrastate continuing medical education for physicians. *The Roger Williams Medical Center designates these educational activities for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) (TM) . Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Activities listed in this calendar are subject to changes or cancellations.
