Message from the President
Roger Williams Medical Center is here for one reason: to help create a healthier tomorrow for the community we serve. Our goal is to deliver world class care with a personal touch. We work hard to meet that goal, through direct patient care, innovative research, and health programs designed to educate the public. Every day, people entrust their health to our physicians, nurses, and staff. It is a relationship that we hold sacred.
Roger Williams is an academic medical center, affiliated with Boston University School of Medicine. The teaching at Roger Williams isn't limited to the residents and fellows who are trained here; on a daily basis, we strive to know more about the causes and treatments for a variety of illnesses.
In 2009, CharterCARE Health Partners was formed as the corporate parent of Roger Williams Medical Center and St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island. This affiliation has helped us provide continued access to high quality health care to the community we serve. In June 2014, CharterCARE and Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. announced completion of a joint venture that signals a new way forward for health care in Rhode Island.
It is an exciting time at the Medical Center. Recent certifications from The Joint Commission and others reinforce how seriously we take our hospital-wide commitment to quality. Advanced palliative care, orthopedic joint replacement, stroke, behavioral health, bariatric surgery, elder care, cancer, and diagnostic imaging are among the programs that have recently been recognized for the delivery of quality care. Some of these are first-in-the-state certifications, as are many of the clinical and surgical procedures our team performs every day.
The care we deliver is defined by quality, innovation and compassion. We appreciate the trust you place in us. If you need assistance during your visit, please don’t hesitate to ask. Your health -- and the health of your loved ones -- is our top priority.
Kimberly O’Connell, Esq.
