Two new digital mammography units made possible by the Memories & Miracles Committee and The Champlin Foundations will arrive at RWMC in April 2007. The Champlin Foundations has approved a $175,000 grant to purchase a digital mammography unit for our Breast Health program. This is especially meaningful to the cancer patients we are privileged to care for. A second unit is being purchased with monies raised by the Memories & Miracles Committee and will be housed in the hospital's radiology department.
When Memories & Miracles evolved in the fall of 2002, the committee hoped to purchase state-of-the-art digital equipment to help save lives lost from breast cancer. The dream is finally coming true thanks to the generosity of hundreds of Memories & Miracles supporters. Having units on both campuses will provide our patients with much more convenience and ease-of-access.

Golfers pitch in to fight cancer at 14th Annual
Golf Classic
A beautiful fall day was the setting on October 3, 2005 for the 14th Annual Roger Williams Medical Center Golf Classic. Ninety-six golfers enjoyed the beautiful weather and the opportunity to play on a championship course, while raising money for a great cause. The Tournament Players Club of Boston in Norton, Massachusetts played host to the golfers, who helped to raise money for the Cancer Center. Since its inception 13 years ago, approximately one million dollars has been raised to benefit Roger Williams Medical Center.
The TPC, which opened in the summer of 2002, boasts a gorgeous clubhouse and a par 72/7,488 yard Arnold Palmer designed course that is as beautiful as it is challenging. Participants received a buffet lunch and dinner as well as a chance to enter a raffle for Patriots' tickets, two round-trip airfare tickets to anywhere in the continental United States, and many other great prizes.
