The majority of our patients do not require general anesthesia, and they receive treatment on an outpatient basis. In fact, the average length of a hospital visit is about two hours. The specialized team of endoscopy nurses, technicians, and your physicians will guide you through the process during your visit and provide detailed, procedure-specific discharge instructions.
General Services
- Colonoscopies: Used to examine the colon and rectum; most commonly used for colon cancer screening.
- Upper endoscopies: Used to examine the upper digestive tract which includes the esophagus, stomach and first part of the small intestine (duodenum)

Special Services
Endoscopic UltraSound: Most commonly used to diagnose and stage cancers in organs like the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, and rectum, EUS is also used to evaluate non-cancerous conditions like pancreatitis and gallstones. Here, physicians use sound waves to get a better picture of the individual layers of the GI tract. Also, used for Cyst Gastrostomy, where non-cancerous growths on the pancreas are drained.
Capsule Endoscopy: Often described as "a camera in pill form," this technology takes thousands of pictures as it travels through the gastrointestinal tract. These images can be transformed into a video, so the physician can see images of the full upper gastrointestinal tract.
Anorectal Manometry: This procedure evaluates the functioning of the anal canal, usually to diagnose the cause of chronic constipation or fecal incontinence.
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography): A special endoscopy used primarily to diagnose and treat conditions of the bile ducts and pancreas, including gallstones, inflammatory strictures (scars), leaks (from trauma and surgery), and cancer.
