Roger Williams Medical Center's Mobile Care Unit is the only hospital-based ambulance service in Rhode Island and serviced more than 5,000 patients during FY 2003. Although Mobile Care is a division of Roger Williams, our service is available to everyone in the community. Mobile Care is a fleet of four fully-equipped emergency medical rescue vehicles, staffed by a team of skilled and technically trained EMS professionals. Mobile Care rescue vehicles are equipped to administer care and treatment to the most critical patients, as well as tend to minor injuries and patient transports. Mobile Care also provides backup rescue support to local municipalities in emergency situations.

Mobile Care ambulance service is available 24 hours a day. To schedule for ambulance service, please call 456-2119. In case of emergency, always dial 911.

Mobile Care also provides emergency stand-by support at community events such as charity walks, Special Olympics, and the Providence Business Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center. These emergency rescue vehicles are also part of the EMS training program offered to municipal firefighters, police officers, and other emergency responders through the Medical Center's EMS Training Academy.
