Roger Williams Medical Center, Community Training Center offers a wide variety of American Heart Association courses including Healthcare Provider, Heartsaver CPR, Heartsaver First Aid, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

These courses are held at Roger Williams Medical Center on a monthly basis, but can be held offsite, at your location, at your convenience, for six or more participants.

BLS for Healthcare Providers
The BLS for Healthcare Providers course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation wThe BLS for Healthcare Providers course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, and oxygen), use of an Automated External Defibrillator, and relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction in responsive and unresponsive victims. The course is designed for healthcare providers who care for patients in a wide variety of settings, both in and out of the hospital.

The Intended audiences for this course are Healthcare Providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMT’s, respiratory therapists, physician assistants, residents, fellows, medical or nursing students, aides, medical or nursing assistants, and other allied health personnel.

Certifications are held on Saturdays Recertification’s on Wednesdays

Advanced Cardiac Life Support
The ACLS Provider Course is designed to teach providers the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult VF/VT arrest. Students are expected to learn and manage 10 core ACLS cases, and 4 types of prearrest emergencies .Roger Williams Medical Center is accredited by Rhode Island Medical Society to sponsor intrastate continuing medical education for physicians. Roger Williams Medical Center designates this ACLS certification activity for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s) & 8 AMA PRA Category 2 credit(s) for Recertification Physicians should claim credit commensurate.

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR
The Heartsaver CPR course is a course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and chocking for responsive adult child and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. This program teaches rescue breathing with and without the use of barrier devices.

Heartsaver First Aid $25.00 9am-11am
Heartsaver Adult $25.00 11am-1pm                       
Heartsaver Child & Infant $25.00 1pm-3pm
Heartsaver First Aid Pediatric $25.00 3pm-4pm
