Roger Williams Mobile Care is home to high-quality professional Emergency Medical Service training. We provide Emergency Medicial Technician instruction for the public as well as advanced education for current EMTs, EMTCs, and firefighters. Our highly-skilled and experienced instructors make the learning experience both informative and interesting. All training programs offered through the Academy can be provided at offsite locations.

Emergency Medical Technician (Basic)

Classes meet on Monday & Wednesday evenings from 6pm-10pm, with occasional
Saturday sessions.

Description: With 184 Hours of classroom and hands-on practical training, our curriculum covers DOT National Registry objectives for initial treatment of medical/trauma patients, CPR, emergency vehicle extrication and operations, pharmacology, WMD, emergency room observation and much more. Successful completion of this course enables the student to apply for Rhode Island and National Registry licensure.

Description: With 208 Hours of Classroom and Observation/Intravenous training, our curriculum includes all objectives as established by the Rhode Island Division of EMS with the addition of Endotracheal Intubation and AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Areas of study include ECG interpretation, advanced pharmacology, airway management and intravenous therapy. Successful completion enables the student to apply for Rhode Island licensure.

Emergency Medical Technician (Refresher)

Basic:

Classes meet on Tuesday & Thursday Evenings from 6pm-10pm

Description: The refresher training program exceeds state of Rhode Island prerequitisites for license renewal. The basic program follows the DOT Refresher curriculum for Emergency Medical Technicians - Basic. Curriculum includes all aspects of emergency care for the sick or injured. CPR renewal is provided and training program qualifies for license renewal and National Registry testing. The basic refresher class is 39 hours and the cardia refresher class is 51 hours.

Emergency Medical Technician - Endotracheal Intubation

Classes meet four evenings

Description: Currently licensed Rhode Island EMTs may enroll in the Endotracheal Intubation training program as outlined by the Rhode Island Division of EMS. This program trains students extensively in the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system, assessment, pathophysiology, and management of respiratory problems. Intubation techniques and clinical applications include adult and pediatric modules.

Description: Licensed EMTs from another state may be required by the RI Division of EMS to attend an EOA/MAST update training as a prerequisite for licensure. This 8-hour training program is intended to certify those EMTs in the specific psychomotor skills and their application to Rhode Island EMS protocols
