Dr. Ruenger joins statewide effort to promote skin safety
On August 7, Dr. Thomas Ruenger, chairman of Dermatology at Roger Williams Medical Center, joined with Sen. Jack Reed and colleagues from the Partnership To Reduce Cancer, Department of Health, and Rhode Island Hospital at a press conference at Roger Wheeler Beach to promote the importance of skin cancer screening and prevention.
The goal of free screenings is to identify cases of skin cancer in their earliest, most treatable stages. The first screening took place at Roger Wheeler Beach in Narragansett with the next free screening happening on August 21 at Misquamicut Beach in Westerly.
Dermatologists from Roger Williams are available at numerous locations throughout the community including Providence, Cranston, Johnston and Lincoln. Visit the link below for information on how to set up an appointment.
