Roger Williams Breast Health Program receives full NAPBC accreditation
The Breast Health Program at Roger Williams Medical Center has received full accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) following a survey on July 15. Accreditation is granted only to those centers that undergo a rigorous evaluation and review of performance and compliance with 28 evidence-based standards of care covering 17 components of care. The program is led by Dr. R. James Koness, Director, Breast Health Program. The NAPBC, a program administered by the American College of Surgeons, is a consortium of national professional organizations focused on breast health and dedicated to the improvement of quality care and outcomes of patients with diseases of the breast through evidence-based standards and patient and professional education. To maintain accreditation, the center is required to document ongoing compliance with the standards on an annual basis and undergo an on-site inspection every three years.
