Roger Williams receives “A” ranking in patient safety from The Leapfrog Group
Roger Williams Medical Center again ranks among a small group of hospitals in Rhode Island to receive an ‘A’ ranking in patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, a national non-profit organization that evaluates the safety and quality performance of U.S. hospitals. Roger Williams was just one of four hospitals in our state to receive the ‘A’ ranking for the most recent ratings period. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly-available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals. That data includes the hospital’s record of patient safety and effort in helping patients protect themselves from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. Last year, Roger Williams was one of only three hospitals in Rhode Island to receive this ranking.
“As patient safety and quality are our two highest priorities, this ranking is especially meaningful,” said Demetra Ouellette, President of Roger Williams. “Thank you to eveyone involved in the delivery of safe, high quality care.”
