Our nurses take great pride in working at Roger Williams. We could tell you how employee satisfaction is a top priority or how teamwork plays an important role in our success, but we'd rather have our nurses speak for themselves.
Each year, during National Nurses Week, we hold an essay contest where our nurses are asked to reflect on one of the themes of our Model of Care. The theme for the 2006 essay contest was “Compassion.” The following are our winning entries.

"I
came to Roger Williams as a new graduate and the friendly atmosphere
made me immediately comfortable. The size of the hospital allowed
me to develop a closer relationship with my patients. Once I was
on the floor, I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with a nurse
preceptor, which gave me more confidence in my nursing skills. The
staff on my unit is so close that they have become a second family
to me."
