The Family and Addiction: An Education Support Group
The Department of Behavioral Medicine has opened its doors to families and friends of loved ones with addiction. Behavioral Medicine offers a four week series of supportive meetings to address the issues associated with addictions. We will explore how addiction has impacted family life, and identify ways to strengthen the recovery process, health and wellness of all family members. Our mission is to validate and acknowledge the feelings of family members. Provide education about addiction as a medical disease. Information about community resources to support families will be provided as well. Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:00pm in the Behavioral Health Day Treatment Room.
