Meet Our Staff
Alan Epstein, M.D.
Director of the Division of Gastroenterology
Dr. Epstein has been treating patients at Roger Williams Medical Center for 19 years. He has special interest in hepatitis, chronic liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and colon cancer screening. Dr. Epstein is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship training at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. The father of a medical student, Dr. Epstein is also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Amer Malik, M.D.
Amer Malik, M.D., who joined Roger Williams on the same day as Dr. Epstein, has a long history of exemplary patient care. He has special clinical interest in colon polyps, gastroesophageal reflux, and endoscopy of the bile ducts, pancreas, and liver. Dr. Malik is a graduate of St. Mary's Hospital Medical School, London. He completed his residency at Brown University and was fellowship trained at Stanford University. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine. Nabil Toubia, M.D.
Nabil Toubia, M.D. trained as a resident at Roger Williams Medical Center before spending three years on a fellowship at Georgetown University. He then returned to Roger Williams, bringing with him a passion for new technologies that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. He has a special interest in endoscopic ultrasound and capsule endoscopy. Dr. Toubia, who has resided in the United States for more than 10 years, and married to a native Rhode Islander recently became a U.S. citizen. He is a proud father of two daughters.
