University Pathologists Team

All of our staff pathologists are board certified in anatomic  pathology and have completed fellowships at internationally renowned institutions. Each of our pathologists sub-specializes in; hematopathology, dermatopathology, uropathology, gastrointestinal pathology, cytology and surgical pathology.  In addition, our pathologists are dedicated academics, working as adjunct professors and heading fellowship programs through the Boston University School of Medicine.


Dermatopathology

Catherine Breen, MD, MPH
A graduate of Emory University and Duke University School of Medicine
Dr. Breen completed her residency at Brown University and her fellowship at Roger Williams/Boston University. Dr. Breen is board-certified in anatomic and clinical and dermatopathology and her area of specialty is in dermatopathology and surgical pathology.

Gastrointestinal Pathology

Robert Lev, MD
A graduate of Lusanne University
Dr. Lev completed his residency at Bronx Municipal and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and his fellowship at NIH in Washington, D.C. Dr. Lev is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and his area of specialty is in G.I. Pathology. Dr. Lev is an internationally recognized expert in G.I. polyps and has authored numerous articles and books on the subject.

Hematopathology

Olga K. Weinberg, MD
A graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, TN
Dr. Weinberg completed her residency and fellowships at Stanford University in Pal Alto, CA. She is board certified in hematopathology and anatomic pathology.

Uropathology

Aaron Gleckman, MD
A graduate of University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA
Dr. Gleckman completed his residency in anatomic pathology at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. He completed his training in uropathology and cytopathology at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Dr. Gleckman is board certified in anatomic pathology and has expertise in uropathology, with intensive surgical uropathology and bladder cancer FISH training.

Surgical Pathology

N. Peter Libbey, MD
A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School
Dr. Libbey completed his residency at Hartford Hospital in CT. Dr. Libbey is board-certified in anatomic pathology and his area of specialty is surgical oncology with emphasis on endocrine disease and breast pathology.

Transfusion Medicine

Joseph Sweeney, MD
A graduate of the University College of Medicine in Galway, Ireland
Dr. Sweeney completed his residency at Bronx Municipal Hospital, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY and his fellowship in medical oncology at Roswell Park Memorial Institute in Buffalo, NY. He is board-certified in Blood Banking.
