Dr. Charles W. Kanaly is a Clinical Instructor of Neurological Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine and an active member of the Division of Neurosurgery at Roger Williams Medical Center. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in biology and a certificate in neurobiology. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University, and then completed his internship in general surgery and his residency in neurological surgery at Duke University, which has one of the busiest neurosurgery programs in North America.

Dr. Kanaly's clinical interests include primary and metastatic brain tumors, skull base neurosurgery (including acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, and pituitary tumors), microsurgery for trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm, minimally-invasive spine surgery, sterotactic radiosurgery for both brain and spinal disorders, and general adult neurosurgery (including peripheral nerve surgery and stimulators of the spinal cord and vagus nerve).
